Carrie brings more than 25 years of elementary teaching experience and a genuine passion for helping children grow with confidence and a love of learning.
Over the years, it has been a privilege to teach and learn alongside so many wonderful children and families. Here are a few of the kind words they've shared about their experiences with Carrie.
Carrie took the time to meet each and every child in her care exactly where they were - showing a level of individual understanding I had never witnessed in all the years my children attended school. She knew his faith, his passion for drawing, what made him laugh and what made him nervous. She knew how long he could hold still, and worked with him to develop a schedule tailor-made for his success. She knew exactly when he needed encouragement and always stood ready as his greatest cheerleader.
When our district moved to close his online school, my son stood before a school board and told everyone who would listen why Mrs. Sauber mattered - why the friends he had made and all the experiences he had had were worth fighting for.
It is important to learn your multiplication tables. It is important to learn to read and to write. But it is also important to learn confidence in yourself and to believe you can make a difference with your voice. Carrie Sauber taught him that. And neither Quentin nor I will ever forget her.
I wanted to homeschool but the idea of doing it alone was intimidating - an online school with teacher support was the perfect option for us. Mrs. Sauber created a curriculum whose delivery, content, and expectations felt age-appropriate, which has not been our experience with every online curriculum. My son received additional support in small groups whenever he needed extra help, and she celebrated every success with him. He would absolutely join any class of Mrs. Sauber's again!
I really liked having Mrs. Sauber for a teacher! In the daily meetings I liked how everyone shared their highs and lows for the day, and we played puzzle games together before the lessons. In small group or one-on-one meetings she listened to us and helped us with whatever we needed. I wish I could have her for my teacher again!
We worked online with Mrs. Sauber for a few years when our children were in early elementary. From an advanced student to an autistic student who hated school, Mrs. Sauber was able to push students when they needed it and support those who were struggling. She is understanding, patient, and flexible - and does an excellent job connecting with children first and supporting them beyond just academics.
